Book Review: Can You Keep a Secret? by Sophie Kinsella

Yeah, I’m back 🙂 That break was exactly what I needed. I have so many new ideas to share with you. I’ve been getting back into reading lately and that’s because I purchased a Kindle device. Yay! I have literally downloaded 10 books and by the way, I have 2 hardcover books yet to be read. Guilty of buying books and not reading. But hey, I’m improving. I recently read 2 good books on kindle and I haven’t downloaded a single book in 15 days. That’s an improvement, my friend. Now getting to the point. I will be doing a fun series called “BOTM” (book of the month) where I will be writing a short book review on my recent read of the month. I did a book review on IKIGAI. If you want to read, you can click here.

Recently I read “Can you keep a secret novel by Sophie Kinsella”. My first novel by Sophie. This novel was on my wishlist for a very long time. Finally, I read it on Kindle. I have to say this I never thought I’d like it so much. It is a playful novel.

The story is about a young confident woman, Emma Corrigan. She works for Panther Corporation and has a messed up life. She goes to Glasgow to finalize a deal where she represents her company but she messes it up badly. The description of this plot is too good. And now she is waiting for her flight to go back. It gets very interesting here where she spills all her secrets to a handsome stranger on the plane. The secrets are silly like Coffee at work is very disgusting, she has a fake Kate Spade bag and so on. You will get to know it all 😉 I love the character of Emma’s friend, Lissy who supports her in all the situations and is truly her best friend. The story takes a very interesting turn when she discovers the person she told all her secrets to is her boss, Jack. Later you will get to know that they start dating and she discovers some of his secrets too. It gets very engaging.
I highly recommend you to read. It has great humour, fun, lovable characters and amazing writing.

My favourite line from the book:

I’ve always had this deep-down conviction that I’m not like everybody else, and there’s an amazingly exciting new life waiting for me just around the corner.
